How it works

Tirzepatide acts on the receptors of two hormones, GIP and GLP-1.

It is started at a low dose and raised in steps. The program is monitored monthly, and it requires a prescription.

Regulatory status

Regulatory update — FDA Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee, July 23–24, 2026: the committee voted to recommend adding six peptides to the 503A bulk drug substances list: BPC-157, TB-500, KPV, MOTS-c, Epitalon and Semax. The votes are advisory and do not bind the FDA; the rulemaking that would add them is still to come. All Rx-designated blends and protocols require a prescription and clinical assessment.

Paying over time

A program can be paid in monthly installments through Cherry, a patient financing company. Cherry decides the approval and sets the terms.
